Josh Goes Sewer Diving

4-3-11

These awesome photo ops are just one of the many reasons why I keep Josh around. =)  While we are looking for a cache Josh's house key fell out of his coat pocket and landed in the sewer.  Does Josh walk away knowing it'll cost him a dollar to replace it? Nope.  Does Josh say screw it because we have a keypad deadbolt on the door anyway? Nope.  Josh goes head first in the sewer to save his key from the complete nastiness at the bottom.  Well hell, if he's gonna do it, I'm taking a picture of it.  LOL - thanks for the laugh guys, that's good stuff right there!

Doggie Montage

Awww, Biscuit is finally allowed to sleep with her.  Caper officially has a "bestie." He has won over both Caper and Josh, success at last!

Biscuit Butt

You've heard of a muffin top? Well this is a biscuit butt.

Emersyn bought this super cute sweater, that he looks super cute in.

The Apologies Of A Bad Biscuit

3-8-2011

From my previous post you know that Bad Biscuit has been eating things.  So far he has eaten: one nerf dart, three pairs of undies, two of Josh's shoe strings (unfortunately on different pairs), Caper's leash, two collars, one pair of my shoes, Zhoie's most favorite rug, about three pounds of toilet paper and two of his blankets.  Biscuit felt really bad about chewing up Josh's shoes.............

Bad Biscuit!

3-7-2011

Mr. Biscuit is still having problems with his house training and the energetic little thing has taken to chewing on our belongings. This stuffing is actually out of one of their toys. I have received several ranting phone calls informing me of the puppies misdeeds and all I have to say is.............woook at dat faaaace!!!!!!!!!

Just Smurfy

3-6-2011

Sweet Zhoie painted a Smurf slate for me.  She knows I love the Smurfs. =)
3-5-2011
This was don at the Arts Festival in 2009, one of the rare moments that the four of us actually did something together.  I love the $s on Zho's braces.

Strange Things: Gargoyle

This strange little guy is actually a cache container.  He lost a wing and came home for repairs.  He's living on top of the frig at the moment.

Strange Things: The Singing Beaver

3-1-11
If the video skips, click on pause and let it load all the way before playing.

Introducing.............The Singing Beaver

The poor thing is dry rotted and falling to pieces, but we can't part with the little guy. He makes me laugh every time he sings.  Soon he'll be the Signing Beaver Skeleton.

Hippy Chic

2-28-11

Since Zhoie does not like product in her hair, we have to resort to the old fashion method of getting it wavy.

Pretty Colors

2-27-11

After much failure, this is the best picture I captured.  Just the like star, I will get this to work the way I want...eventually

Strange Things: How Much Wood Could A Woodchuck Chuck?

2-26-11
Hey you dang woodchucks, STOP CHUCKING MY WOOD!

p.s. I know it isn't really a woodchuck Josh & Dala. But the dancing groundhog is also the dancing beaver and that's just how it works.

Strange Things: Free Car

2-25-11

I'm wondering if this woman really got money out of the City of New Lexington to buy a car or if her ex husband's initials are N.L.?

Strange Things: Golden Ammo Can

2-24-11

This is one of my favorite strange things and one of the few that actually belong to me too. (hint hint Josh, you're a weirdo).  This is a Golden Ammo Can.  It was present to us when we reached our 1000th cache find in April of 2011.  Our dear friends Michael and Maggi present this to us and I'll tell you it was strange how special it felt.  I can remember thinking that Josh and I hadn't hadn't felt that "special" since our wedding day.  We were surrounded by about 40 of our favorite people, they made a lovely speech and brought tears to my eyes.  The ammo can was filled with goodies from all of our geo-friends.  It was touching to see how well they really knew us through the gag gifts we were presented. Some handy, some hilarious, some down right scandalous. ;)   All are held dear to our hearts.  The really great part was finding out that as receivers of the golden ammo can, we were next in line to present to the next of our friends to reach 1000.  You have no idea how much fun it is making an ammo can look that cute!  We presented cans to Scott&Brenda and Jon&Kathy later that summer at the GeoBash, that's a whole different blog.  =)

Strange Things: Big Green (elg)

2-23-11

I live in this house every day and sometimes I am amazed by the strange stuff we own.  I've decided to start a mini-photo-series of strange things you might see if you come visit.  This little guy was first on my list.  What do you think it is?  I got a funny phone call from Josh asking if I had been taking pictures, otherwise he needed an explanation as to why this was sitting on the night stand. Bwahahaha!

Stairway of Death

2-22-11

I take these stairs at least twice a day during the week.  I am always very careful because they never get sunlight and the ice stays for a long time. What I have always dreaded finally happened, I wasn't being careful.  I wiped out in such a way that I wish there was a youtube video, it had to have been hilarious.  My feet went out from under me, I flew straight up and straight down with a thwack.  The corner of one step hit across my shoulders, the corner of another across my lower back, another across my legs.  I stoved (sp?) both wrists and generally pissed myself off.  After I had a few choice words I began to wonder how long it would be before anyone found me, it was cold out there! One extremity at a time I tested for breakage.  Thankfully nothing was broken!  Soaking wet from the back of my head to my shoes I limped my way to the van.  But wait it's on empty - now I get to go into the gas station looking like this because their pumps won't ever take my card.  Who HAS this kind of luck?  The soreness lasted for two days and a little tiny cut on my hand still hurts. Other than that, nothing damaged except my ego.

Caching

2-21-11

We almost always see something picture worthy on even the shortest caching trip.

A cash reward is always appreciated. =)

Race Day

2-20-11
Today was race day!  That means something different to race fans, to me it's a fun get together with some funny people.  Of course, we had another excellent dinner at the Burry's.  I'm going to get them an Applebees sign for the front of their house.

Zhoie was excited to see sweet Willow.

This is for Billie and Drew, are these the cutest little gnomes you've ever seen?

Three Little Piggies Go To Market

2-19-11
Apparently the entire family wants to be made fun of in public?

Strange Messages

2-18-11
Our whiteboard often has strange messages.  Part of Lauryn's original message was erased, something about the Pizza Cottage? LOL  And apparently someone needs to take 5 pans and 6 water bottles to school?  I dunno, but it makes me laugh.

Road To Recovery

2-17-10
These are our friends Amanda and Chris. I blogged earlier about Chris' current health scare.  I am happy to post that he is on the road to recovery.  He's talking and walking (with assistance) and should be busting out of ICU any day and head to a rehab facility. The light at the end of the tunnel is in sight! Can't wait to get Chris back around the camp fire!

Sleepy Time

2-16-11
Our house is in "new baby" mode.  Our lives are revolving around this new puppy.  We finally had success this morning. Two dogs did #1 and #2 OUTSIDE the house and ON COMMAND. WooHoo!!!  This picture was taken after a very long playtime with the Cape.

Play Time

2-15-11
For years I've believed that Caper needed a playmate.  Come to find out, she LOVES having a friend.  They have us rolling in laughter most days.  This may look mean, but they really are having fun!

Loving You, Love, Me

Cuddle Time

Everything Zhoie loves all in one chair: Caper, Biscuit, Laptop, Television.

Limp Biscuit

Today is Biscuit's one week anniversary with our family.  He seems to like us!  He and Caper are getting along great, much better than I could have hoped. She even let him eat from her bowl finally today. =)  Having this puppy is much like have a baby, he's very cuddly and likes to be held like an infant.  Fortunately for me I can lock him  in a cage while I go to work, which I could not do if he were a real baby. LOL We're stilling working on the potty training, I'm not sure what we're doing wrong.  Caper just kind of did it after we told her to the first time.   I think he's so cute that we are not stern enough, but that stopped today, mean Mommy had a little chat with Biscuit.  He's just a baby, he'll catch on,  in the mean time, he's lucky he's cute!

Friendly Star

I've tried several times to get a picture I like of this star.  Now that it's staying light longer, I have better light outside. I think that's what wasn't clicking with my previous attempts.

We Go Geo In The Snow

Last Saturday the plan was for a group of us to attack the 270 Series Caches.  It was the first time I've ever just gotten on 270 to drive around in a circle for several hours.  The series has 20 caches, each holding a clue to the final and 21st cache.  The weather that day didn't look too promising. Josh was quite a negative Nelly for most of the morning before we left the house. Oh well, there were people waiting on us, it was out into the snow we went.  (after being called a few choice words by the people waiting on us) Actually you couldn't just call it snow, there was hail, sleet, freezing rain, rain, snow and ice chucks falling from the sky.  We finally made it to Hilliard and split up into two cars.  Thankfully we had one with AWD and one with 4WD.

This is a travel bug we picked up on our circular journey.  It's the biggest one I've ever seen.  Everyone that finds this bug is supposed to add a key chain and move it to the next cache.  It even came with it's out lock-n-lock carrying case.

This place was too picture perfect, those of you who know us will understand.
We forgot to keep track of our time, but I think we managed to do the series in about 4 hours.  Having so many navigators and seekers and secretaries helps the group move along quickly.  Now came the hard part, we had to use all of our clues to figure out the puzzle to get the final coordinates.  After a few 60 mile misses and a few guesses, we figured out we thought were the correct numbers.  After we verified those with a previous finder, we were back out in the cold for the final.
And here is part of the group signing the final log book.  After that it was off to meet Harsan for some grub at the Starliner Diner where this picky eater had a really great Cuban quesadilla and fries. LOL

Londyn Ella

This little girl and her family have been a big part of our busy week.  This is Londyn Ella, new daughter of my friend Melody, sister of Emersyn.  She's a really happy baby, and so cuddly!  She's really alert for a three week old and is already trying to hold her head up. They are the ones who gave Biscuit to us.  While I do feel like the villain who stole little Emersyn's puppy, I think she's pretty happy that she can visit him whenever she wants and I know that Mommy is happy to get the puppy out from under foot.  =)

Biscuit

Well we've had quite a week!  We've been really busy and have not had much  luck in the photo department. Using two different computers and two different cameras, none of it works!  It's really time to replace some of electronic gadgets.  But alas, I got one of each to work so here I am.

Meet Biscuit, the new addition to our home.   He is 12 weeks old.  He is a Shih Tzu and something mix. He and Caper are hitting it off pretty well. I figure if she hasn't eaten him yet, he's golden. =)  I find it a little strange that the puppy still isn't as hyper as the 7 year old JRT.  He's playful and cuddly and soft and just too cute.  Zhoie is in love!

Happy Circles

Oddly enough, these circles make me happy.  It's sort of ugly and in the way, but by God, no one else has an insulator wind chime!  I do love quirky!

These circles make me happy every time I look at them on Zhoie's bedroom wall. First, they are happy colors that inspire a smile. Second, we made great memories on this project. Third, I can't look at them without thinking my hubby is a genius.  Fourth, they make Zhoie happy, therefore they make me happy.

Hope & Healing

2-1-11
Today I am inspired by our friend Chris and his wife Amanda.  Last week Chris was hospitalized with an unknown illness that has taken away his ability to control or use his muscles.  After five days he is still undiagnosed and remains in ICU.  We are all confident that the doctors will figure it out and Chris will make a full recovery. They are going through so much and they have a long road ahead.  But they are strong and have a huge support system full of people who love them!  Here's to hope and healing for Chris!

1-31-11

I should be celebrating the completion of the first month of the project without missing a day. Some posted late, but always posted. Today, I am uninspired.  Here's a cute picture of the dog.  She's pretty much up my rear end at all times. For some reason, she likes to lay under my arm when I'm in the computer chair.  Maybe now that the pressure of today's picture is off my shoulders inspiration will hit me.  Don't hold your breath!

Sweaty Boob Money

1-30-11
This reminded me of the lady who gave me the sweaty boob money last summer. Please Lord, don't let these become popular.

1-29-11

I promise I'm not depressed or anything, it's just a great song I just happened to hear tonight. =)
1-28-11
We had dinner at a nifty little place called Dirty Franks.  Who doesn't love a reastaurant with "dirty" in the name...right?  We met up with some cool people for some great conversation (as per usual) and the best hotdogs we've ever eaten.  You can get anything from "The Glenn Beck, Just a plain, old weiner" to "The Sriracha Slaw Dog."  Highly recommended!

Thanks Kathy for taking a picture for me, you saved me when I stupidly forgot my camera. =)

Doggy Bondage?

1-27-11
If you have met our dog then you know that she is a little on the hyper side. She does a few cool tricks, but following commands?  Just not her style.  Our dear friend Duane is the owner of Peanut, the most well behaved and lovable dog I know.  He kindly suggested that we try a device called the Gentle Leader on Caper.  It's a collar that goes around her neck and her nose that should prevent her from pulling and tugging at her leash.  Caper and I took a fun trip to Petsmart last night and began her training tonight. I have had the best time tonight laughing at this stupid dog.  She's been doing flips and jumps and growling and whining and has managed to escape from this contraption four times now.  She's been giving me the evil eye all night so I took a picture.  This is Caper.....this is Caper pissed on bondage.

What Is It?

1-26-11
This is Josh's contribution.  What is it?
